Ursa Major Events is Jimmy and Sandy Gabany.

Jimmy has been producing B2B events since 2013. He started at MGM Resorts in Las Vegas, running productions for Fortune 500 clients on the kind of stage where a visible failure is not an option. That is where the standard was set. Before that, he served as a U.S. Army combat engineer, and that standard has followed him into every room since. He holds an MBA and has produced events across the United States, Spain, Greece, Dubai, Canada, and Panama.

Sandy holds an MFA and has spent more than 30 years in publishing as an editor, author, and university professor. She has worked with some of the most respected publishers in the world and mentored hundreds of writers. What she brings to events is exactly what you'd expect from someone who has spent three decades making complex creative work come together: a sharp eye, a calm presence, and the ability to connect with anyone in the room. On site, Sandy runs customer service, and she handles the editing on the event’s written materials.

Together, they run a small operation on purpose, prioritizing relationships with clients, venues, and every vendor on site.

We've stood in enough rooms to know the truth about events: the host is the one person who should never be solving problems during their own event. The whole point is to be with your people. That belief shapes how we run every production. We take over the operation so you don't have to choose between hosting your event and attending it.

We produce conferences, executive summits and dinners, retreats, and partner events for founders and for companies without an events team, from 20 guests to 500. We also work behind agencies and DMCs as their production team. We're based in Virginia and produce events across the country and overseas.
